How do I add an Owner to the Root Public Folder?
In order to backup Public Folders, Rewind Backups requires that at least one Microsoft 365 licensed Global Administrator has owner permissions to the root Public Folder.
Exception: Folders that include a forward-slash (/) in the name are not supported.
How to add an owner to the root Public Folder:
- Go to the Exchange admin center, select public folders in the left navigation pane, click the ellipsis, and then click Root permissions.
- Click the + symbol to add a user, select Owner in the Permission level field, and click Save.
