FAQ
Q: Does Rewind support Assets in Jira Service Management?
A: Yes! Backups for Jira automatically backs up your Assets in Jira Service Management (formerly known as Insights). Your automated backup includes:
- Schemas
-
Objects (Assets)
- Attributes
- References
-
Object Types
- Attributes
Q: How do I add backups for JSM Assets?
A: Atlassian separates access for JSM Assets into its own API, meaning that access to these resources is handled separately from the core Jira resources. In order for Rewind to be able to access Assets, you will need to generate a separate access token in your Atlassian admin portal and add it to Rewind.
Q: How do I link Rewind to my JSM Assets account?
A: Setup is simple and should only take a few minutes. Here are the steps:
Q: Are there any additional costs to backing up my JSM Assets?
A: No. Backups for JSM Assets are included in the cost of Rewind Backups for Jira. There is no additional cost to set up your backups for JSM Assets.
Q: Are Assets shown in the Rewind Vault?
A: Yes, Objects are viewable in the Rewind Vault. To view the other resources included in Assets, run an Export using Rewind’s Export feature.
Q: Can I restore Assets using Rewind?
A: Yes, you can restore JSM Assets resources using Rewind by visiting the Vault. We now support granular restores for Object Schema and Object.
- Use the Filter on the Vault to find Object and Object Schema
- In the Vault, locate the resource that you would like to restore
- Hover over the resource, and click on the Restore button
- Select the version that you’d like to restore
Note:
- Restoring Object Schema also restores the Object Types, Objects, and Object Attributes associated with the Schema
- Restoring an Object restored the Object and its Attributes and References
Q: I would like to change the Assets account I have linked. Can I do that?
A: Yes, simply navigate to Settings -> Backup Configuration and click “Reset” to clear your JSM Assets token. Once complete, you can re-link using a new token.
