To setup your Okta instance with Rewind, please follow the guide below:
- As an Okta Admin, log into the Okta Admin Console and click on Applications → API Service Integrations and then ‘Add Integration’
- A list of available integrations will be displayed. Search for Rewind Backups, select it and click in Next
- The next screen will display the details of the integration, along with the list of scopes to grant permission. Next step is to click on ‘Install & Authorize’
- Once you install it, the next screen will display a modal with your client secret. Click on ‘Copy to Clipboard’ and save this information somewhere safe to use later, you will need to input this secret in Rewind App to link your Okta’s instance. Click on ‘Done’ to close the modal after saving the secret.
Rewind App setup instructions:
- Log into Rewind App using your existing credentials or create an account: Rewind - SaaS Backups
- Go to ‘Add new Integration’ on the left menu, find ‘Okta Backups’ and click in ‘Add New’
- A new modal will be displayed. In this modal, you can input the credentials that you will find in the Okta’s integration you just installed.
Click on the Okta’s Domain ‘Copy to Clipboard’ button and then paste the information in Rewind App modal. Then do the same for the Client ID field. For the secret, this is the secret from the previous Step 4. Paste it on the Secret and you should have something like this:
- Click on ‘Connect’ and the setup will be completed. Select the region you would like to have your data saved, then backup will start and soon the vault will display all the items fetched from your Okta’s instance.
Troubleshooting:
If your connection does not succeed, please check again your credentials. Make sure your domain is correct, and it should end with .com
(not with /
