Important:
- This feature is in early access. Please contact your Rewind Account Manager to request access.
- Once BYOS is enabled for a service instance, it cannot be turned off.
- BYOS must be configured during the initial setup. If Rewind is already installed on a particular account (service instance), you’ll need to contact help@rewind.io to start a new installation with a beginning-of-time backup.
- Backups will stop if Rewind loses permission to access your connected storage.
- Rewind does not assume responsibility for data loss that may occur within your own storage environment.
Overview
Bring Your Own Storage (BYOS) allows you to connect your own Amazon AWS S3 storage bucket to Rewind. This means all backup data will be stored in a location you control, giving your organization greater flexibility over where data resides and how it’s managed.
