If you work with a team, you can invite people to your Rewind organization, assign them a role, and remove them when they no longer need access. This article covers how to invite a member, choose the right role, and revoke access.
Steps to invite a member to your Rewind organization
- Log in to Rewind at app.rewind.com.
- Open Account Settings from the left menu, then select Team Collaboration.
- Click Invite member.
- Enter the person's name and email address.
- Choose a role:
- Organization admin can manage settings, billing, integrations, and users. They can't transfer ownership or perform data exports.
- Integration admin can configure and manage the integrations you assign, including running backups and restores. They can't manage users or billing.
- Read only can view the backups, backup status, and history for the integrations you assign. They can't make changes, back up, or restore.
- Backup configuration admin can view and restore the data in the backup configurations you assign. They can't change the configuration itself, see other backup configurations, or manage users, billing, or integrations. Available for Jira and GitHub.
- Backup configuration viewer can view the data in the backup configurations you assign. They can't make changes, back up, or restore. Available for Jira and GitHub.
- If you chose any role other than Organization admin, select which integrations or backup configurations the person should have access to.
- Click Send invite to send the invitation.
Tip: Follow the principle of least privilege. Grant the lowest role that still lets the person do their job.
Steps to remove a member from your Rewind organization
- Log in to Rewind at app.rewind.com.
- Open Account Settings from the left menu, then select Team Collaboration.
- Find the member you want to remove.
- Click the trash can icon on the right-hand side of their row.
- Select Revoke user to confirm.
Note: Removing a member immediately revokes their access. Removing a Backup configuration admin doesn't change the backup configuration itself, only their access to it.
What to expect next
The person you invited receives an email invitation and appears in your member list with an Invite pending status. Their access starts once they accept the invitation.
