If your Rewind backups for Confluence have stopped, you’ll need to re-link your Confluence instance to Rewind. Don’t worry—your previous backups remain intact, and your Rewind subscription will continue as expected. Follow these two steps to re-establish the API connection between Rewind and Confluence:
1. Uninstall Rewind
- Uninstall Rewind by following Atlassian’s guide here.
- Find Rewind Backups for Confluence in your installed apps.
- Uninstall the app.
Important: Atlassian may keep your subscription active until the end of your billing period before allowing uninstallation. If you cannot uninstall immediately, refer to this Atlassian guide on uninstallation restrictions. If you need further assistance, contact Atlassian Support.
2. Reinstall Rewind
- Visit the Rewind listing on the Atlassian Marketplace.
- Click Get App and follow the prompts to reinstall.
- Authorize Rewind to access your Confluence instance.
Important: To backup and restore data, Rewind must be installed by a user with ‘Organization Admin’ permissions in Atlassian.
What happens next?
- Your backups will automatically resume once Rewind is reinstalled.
- All your previous backups and your data remain intact.
