How to Install
To install Rewind Backups for monday.com:
- Log into your monday.com account.
- Click on the Marketplace icon in the top-right corner
- Search for “Rewind” and select Rewind Backups for monday.com.
- Click Install App.
- Choose All Workspaces.Note: Rewind will work properly if you select Specific Workspaces. However, restoring data may be more complicated if you choose this option. We can provide help if you run into issues.
- Click on Rewind Backups for monday.com.
- Click Use App.
- Choose a Workspace for the app icon to appear.Note: this determines where the app icon will appear. This does not affect which Workspaces will be backed up.
- Click Authorize.
- Select a Data Region and click Submit.Note: if you already have a Rewind account associated with your monday.com email, you will see a screen that prompts you to log in. Once you log in, you will see the Data Region selection screen.
- Your first backup will start automatically. You will receive an email when the backup is complete.Note: Depending on the size and complexity of your monday.com account, this may take several minutes to several hours.
Congrats! 🎉 Rewind Backups for monday.com is now installed.
How to Perform a Single Item Restore
To restore a single Board on your Account:
- Wait for your first backup to complete.
- Click Filters, check the filter box beside Board, and click Apply.
- Find the Board you would like to restore and click View Versions.
- Click the Select Version dropdown and choose a Version.
- Click Restore to this Version.
- Click Yes, restore in the confirmation modal.
- The restore will start. You will receive an email when the restore is complete.
- Once your restore is complete, you can review the restored board in your monday.com account.
How to perform an Advanced Restore
To restore all Workspaces and Boards on your Account:
- Click the Advanced Restore tab.
- Select the Date to which you like to restore.
- Select the Time to which you like to restore.
- Click Restore Items.
- Click Yes, restore in the confirmation modal.
- The restore will start. You will receive an email when the restore is complete.
- Once your restore is complete, you can review the restored Workspaces and Boards in your monday.com account.
Recommended
We recommend setting Rewind Backups for monday.com to Private. This way, you can limit who sees the app in their monday.com instance.
To change Rewind Backups to private:
- Click the three dots (…) in the top-right corner.
- Hover Change Rewind Backups type, then click Change to private.
- Click Change Rewind Backups to private in the confirmation modal.
Inviting Additional Users to Rewind
When you invite additional users to your Rewind account, they will have access to all data captured in your backup. This includes private boards and items accessible to the admin or user who initially linked Rewind with monday.com, even if the newly invited users don’t normally have permission to view that content within monday.com.
For example, if an admin links Rewind and has access to another user’s private board, any new user invited to Rewind will also be able to see that private board—even if they can’t access it directly on monday.com.
