General Coverage and Setup
Does this integration cover all monday.com products, such as monday work management, monday CRM, monday dev, and monday service?
Yes. Rewind covers all monday.com products, including monday work management, monday CRM, monday dev, and monday service, as they all share the same core platform structure of boards, columns, groups, items, and sub-items.
What’s the best way to set up Rewind to avoid issues if someone leaves the company?
We recommend installing Rewind using a dedicated service account rather than a personal user account. This ensures continuity in your backups even if the original installer leaves the organization. The service account should have access to all boards you want backed up, including any private boards that require protection.
Does Rewind back up all private boards in monday.com?
Not automatically. Due to API limitations, Rewind can only back up boards that the user who installed Rewind has access to, including private boards. If backing up private boards is important for your organization, make sure the installer (ideally a service account) is invited to each relevant private board. Otherwise, those boards will not be included in your backups.
What happens when I invite additional users to Rewind?
When inviting additional users to your Rewind account, be aware that they will have access to all data captured in your backup, including private boards and items accessible to the original admin or user who initially linked Rewind with monday.com. Even if newly invited users don’t normally have permission to view certain content within monday.com, they will be able to see it in Rewind.
Can other users of my monday.com instance view the data backed up in Rewind?
Not automatically. Once your instance is linked to Rewind, any additional users must be explicitly invited to manage your backups within Rewind, even if they click on Rewind Backups within monday.com.

Backup and Restore Behavior
How frequently does Rewind perform backups for monday.com?
Rewind performs daily incremental backups. Users can also trigger additional on-demand backups as needed.
How long does Rewind keep my backups for monday.com?
Data is retained for one year, with the most recent version of an item kept indefinitely. If an account is canceled, data is retained for 90 days before being automatically purged.
Can I restore individual items or columns?
Currently, restores are at the board level (including items, sub-items, groups, columns). More granular item-level restores are planned for soon.
How do I restore at the workspace level?
Advanced restores are full monday.com instance restores, which will bring back the workspaces and all items underneath, including boards, groups, columns, items, sub-items.
Does Rewind back up and restore files?
Rewind backs up and restores files that are added to a File column. These files are downloaded, stored securely, and can be restored.
However, files added directly to updates or documents (such as comments or item updates) are not downloaded or stored. Instead, we preserve the link to the file provided by monday.com. These links typically remain valid for 30 days, after which the file is deleted by monday.com and becomes unrecoverable.
Are restores always additive, or can they overwrite existing content?
All Rewind restores are additive and non-destructive—we never delete existing data from your monday.com account. If an item already exists, we’ll update it with the restored version; if it doesn’t exist, we’ll create it. This ensures that data is never removed, but some fields may be overwritten during the update process to reflect the restored state.
Is Rewind able to back up and restore very large monday.com instances (e.g., 100,000+ items)?
Yes. Rewind is built to handle large-scale monday.com accounts. While the size of your data won’t affect the performance of your monday.com instance, backup and restore operations may take longer to complete as the volume of data increases. This is especially true for the initial backup, which captures all available data. Subsequent incremental backups are faster, and restore times will vary depending on the amount of data being recovered.
Do Rewind backups include archived or trashed boards?
No. Rewind only backs up active boards. Un-archive or un-trash a board before your next backup if you need it protected.
Data Coverage and Limitations
Do you support updates (comments)?
Currently we do not back up or have restore support for updates/comments. This work is planned in Q2.
Do backups include automations from monday.com?
Automations are not supported via monday.com’s current API, thus aren't backed up.
Can I export my monday.com data through Rewind?
Yes, supported data can be exported in JSON format, suitable for compliance and data portability needs.
Are file attachments fully backed up?
Currently, files and documents are partially backed up via CDN links. Full backup and restore functionality is coming soon.

Is Rewind SOC 2 compliant?
