How Rewind backs up your data
Rewind backs up data for e-commerce, accounting, development, and productivity solutions by capturing individual changes at a granular level.
Each Rewind account includes a Vault where the data we back up is stored as an individual file—providing a detailed, itemized backup of your data.
When do backups run?
We automatically back up your data daily across all platforms. You'll have automatic daily backups in addition to any manual backups you initiate and also real-time backups if your plan supports them.
What does a Rewind backup look like?
Many users picture a backup as a single, complete snapshot of their account, almost like a photo album with daily snapshots. However, Rewind’s backups are more like detailed journal entries. Rather than a single file representing your entire account, each change you make is recorded as its own entry—like logging each task you completed that day.
Rewind achieves this by using an application programming interface (API) to connect directly with your platform. Every day, Rewind scans for new changes and saves them. During this process, our software meticulously identifies what’s changed, added, or deleted by comparing the new data against the last backup.
Where can I find my backup files?
All your backup files are securely stored in the Rewind Vault. Your daily backup might consist of just a few files or hundreds, depending on the changes made that day. If no changes occurred, Rewind simply maintains previous versions, keeping a secure history of your data.
Each version is encrypted and stored in the Rewind Vault, available whenever you need it.
