This article explains how Rewind's Data Residency feature works, which regions are available for each platform, and how to change your region after setup.
If your company needs to comply with GDPR or a similar data protection or privacy law, Rewind can help. With Rewind's Data Residency feature, you can choose the region where your Rewind backup snapshots are stored. The region you select is chosen during the setup process and can be changed by contacting support.

How can current Rewind customers change their data residency?
Contact help@rewind.com to change your data residency. Keep in mind that if you change your data residency region, your Rewind Vault will not include backup snapshots created before the change.
Will my backups be secure and accessible with Rewind?
All data at rest in our databases, cache services, and other data storage locations is encrypted using standard AWS encryption mechanisms — typically AES-256.
Rewind uses AWS's redundant infrastructure to host your backup snapshots. For more information, see AWS compliance and data center controls.
