1. How long does the first backup take?
- The first backup is the longest, typically taking up to an hour as we catalog all your account data.
- After that, backups are much faster since only new changes are saved incrementally.
2. Where are Rewind backups stored?
Rewind is a fully cloud-based solution. Your backups are securely stored on encrypted servers, accessible anytime and from anywhere, without taking up space on your local drive.
3. Can I download my backups?
- While full data export in its original format isn't available, we offer JSON exports for review. Some products have a self-serve “EXPORT” button in the vault UI; for others, contact support at help@rewind.com.
- Exports may require re-authentication for security.
4. Is my data encrypted?
- Absolutely. As a backup company, security is our top concern.

5. Where is my data located?
By default, you will be added to the closest data center for the following platforms:
- Shopify: CA, EU, US
- BigCommerce: US, EU
- Trello: US
For the following platforms, you will be prompted to select your data residency:
