What changes for you
Nothing about how Rewind works changes when you're on the new version — if an update ever requires action, it's a one-time step. Here's what stays the same:
- Your existing connection, retention settings, and backup configurations stay in place.
- Your backups continue on the same schedule without interruption.
- All previous backup history and data are retained.
- What Rewind protects and how restores work stays the same.
- Your plan and pricing are unchanged.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know if I'm already on the latest version?
Go to your Connected apps list in Atlassian Admin, find Rewind Backups for Confluence or Rewind Backups for Jira, and view its app details to check the version number. Compare it to the version listed in the relevant update above.
Why was my app already updated without me doing anything?
Atlassian rolls this type of update out automatically in stages, so most customers are moved to the new version without any action needed. This is expected and doesn't affect your backups or connection.
Do I ever need to take action for these updates?
Not usually — most updates roll out automatically with nothing required from you. If a specific update ever does require an action, that will be stated clearly in that update's entry listed above, along with the exact steps to follow.
Will I lose any backups if I update?
No. All previously backed-up data and your backup history are retained.
Do I need to set Rewind up again after updating?
No. Your existing connection and backup history stay in place. If you're ever asked to accept a permission change or an update for the Rewind app, that's a normal part of the process — just approve it and you're done.
I'm a new customer — does this affect me?
No. If you're installing Rewind for the first time, just follow the install guide for your app — you'll get the current version automatically.
