What can Rewind Staging copy?
For a comprehensive list of what can and cannot be copied, please refer to this article.
Can I use Rewind Staging to duplicate someone else's website?
No, Rewind Staging is designed to copy data only from stores to which you have direct access. Consequently, it cannot be utilized to replicate another individual's shop or theme.
If I close the master store, will the images or items I have copied over be deleted?
Your images and items will remain intact within the new store once they have been copied over; therefore, closing the master store will not affect or delete them. You are secure in this regard.
I purchased a license for my theme in the source store; do I need to purchase it again in the destination store?
Without a valid license, merchants will not be able to receive support for the theme from the respective theme developer. We recommend reaching out to the theme developer prior to utilizing Rewind Staging to copy the theme, in order to discuss their protocol and determine the best way to purchase the license in the destination store after the theme has been transferred.
Is there a maximum quantity that Rewind Staging allows to be continuously and automatically copied (e.g., for Products, Collections, Blogs, etc.)?
No, there is no maximum limit on the number of items that Rewind Staging can continuously and automatically copy in real-time from your master store to your destination store(s).
The larger the store, the longer the process may take; however, Rewind Staging will continue to operate until the copying process is completed.
When cloning items, will Rewind Staging attempt to recreate them? What about their handle and ID
According to Shopify's regulations, no two items (even if one is a clone of the other) may share the same ID, regardless of whether their handles are identical.
If the item does not already exist in your destination store, Rewind Staging will copy it as a new item and create a new corresponding handle and ID.
Does this app work on Shopify stores with a large number of products?
Yes! We are fully capable of backing up stores of all sizes; in fact, some of our clients operate some of the largest Shopify Plus stores on the platform.
While the copying process may take some time, we strive to minimize the duration of activities through the API.
Can I alter an item in my destination store after the master store has been cloned?
Yes, you can easily clone the master store and subsequently modify the items (Products, Themes, Collections, etc.) in the destination store(s). These modifications will not impact or alter the original items within the master store in any manner.
Can Rewind Staging copy Orders and/or Customers from one store to another?
Currently, Rewind Staging does not facilitate the copying of Orders and Customers. Customers would need to utilize a different application for this purpose, or they would need to export the data and manually import it into their new store.
Can I achieve a two-way sync between two stores?
At this time, a two-way sync is not possible. Rewind Staging was specifically designed to copy data from one Source Store to a destination store or stores and cannot be linked in the opposite direction without severing the initial connection. Consequently, Rewind Staging operates solely as a one-way sync.
Why is my store's continuous copy taking over 24 hours?
If one of the item types you are copying includes products, please note that Rewind Staging can only transfer a maximum of 1,000 variants per day unless your store is subscribed to Shopify Plus.
