Key Benefits and Capabilities
The Event History page gives your team the tools to monitor backup performance, troubleshoot issues, and support compliance workflows—without needing to immediately contact support.
Key Benefits
- Clear visibility — Instantly verify the status and completion of backup, restore, and copy events using intuitive visual progress bars.
- Efficient troubleshooting — Spot and investigate errors quickly without needing immediate support.
- Compliance support — Access detailed logs that support audit requirements, including the option to download a JSON file with error-specific information.
What You Can Do
- Monitor daily backup activity across each integration
- Verify the success of recent restore or copy operations
- Review event timing and identify the user or system that initiated the action
- Filter historical events to audit specific time periods or event types
- Investigate failed events and download error details to support internal troubleshooting
Breakdown of Event Details
Each row in the Event History table gives a snapshot of a single event. Here's what you'll find under each column:
Field | What it shows |
---|---|
Event | Whether the event was a Backup, Restore, or Copy |
Started Date | When the event began (uses your account's timezone under Account Settings → Profile → Timezone) |
Completed Date | When the event finished |
Initiated By | Whether the event was started manually (User) or automatically by Rewind (System) |
Total Items | The number of items processed during the event |
Errors | The number of items that encountered issues |
Success Rate |
A visual bar showing how many items were successfully processed: Percentage reflects items successfully processed in a Backup, Restore, or Copy job. For example, a 99% success rate means 1 out of 100 items failed. These visual indicators help you scan for issues at a glance and quickly identify which events may need follow-up. |
Filtering Events
To help narrow your focus, you can filter events by:
- Date Range — Use the calendar picker to select a time period from the past 12 months. Due to the recent release of this feature, events prior to April 10, 2025 will not be displayed.
- Event Type — Filter by Backup, Restore, or Copy. By default, the list displays all event types.
Reviewing and Resolving Event Errors
When an event encounters errors:
- A count will appear in the Errors column (e.g., “3” to indicate three items failed during processing).
- The Success Rate bar will be partially filled and appear in muted coral.
- Clicking the error count opens a Download Report option, allowing you to download a JSON file with error details (available only when errors are present).
Only errors that can likely be resolved are shown—these represent events that Rewind attempted to process but encountered issues with (such as permission errors, missing data, or inaccessible items).

Limitations
While Event History is a powerful way to monitor data protection activity, there are a few important limitations to keep in mind:
- Data starts from April 10, 2025 — Events prior to this date are not available.
- Retention is limited to one year — Event history displays events for the past 12 month and will not include events that occurred outside of this rolling window.
- No notifications for low success rates — At this time, alerts can’t be configured based on specific success rate thresholds (e.g., events completing below 95%).
- Available for select integrations — The Event History page is currently supported for the following integrations: Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, GitHub, Azure DevOps, Mailchimp, Klaviyo, Okta, Entra ID, and monday.com.
