Vault Exports
Rewind allows you to download an archive of the latest version of all items that have been backed up in your vault. This applies to vaults for Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Mailchimp and Klaviyo. For export features for other integrations please see here.
Note that once data is exported and downloaded, you are responsible for the security and protection of your data. Please ensure you adhere to your organization's security policies.
How does it work?
Exporting a vault can only be performed by a user with the Account Owner permissions in Rewind.
1. From the Rewind Vault, click on the “Export” button.
2. You will be asked to re-authenticate your identity. Rewind will send an email to the Account Owner with a time-limited (15 minutes) single-use passcode. You will need to paste the provided passcode into the authentication request in the Rewind application.
3. On successful authentication, Rewind will assemble an archive. This could take several hours depending on the amount of data being assembled.
4. Once the archive is ready for download, Rewind will email you, indicating that the file is ready and providing a link to initiate the download. Note that the download will only be available for a limited time, with the expiry time stated in the email.
5. You can then initiate the download to your local device.
Important Notes
- The export is archived as a compressed ZIP file
- The archive contains one file per resource, separated into one directory per resource type.
- For most resources, the files are in JSON format (a common human-readable data interchange format, readers for this format are available from third-party sources. These files are also viewable as plain text).
- Learn more about the JSON format here: https://fileinfo.com/extension/json
- Some resources, such as git code repositories in Bitbucket, are exported as their own TGZ files.
