This guide walks you through installing Rewind Backups on your Shopify store. Whether you're setting up Rewind for the first time or adding a backup to an additional Shopify store, your first backup will kick off automatically once installation is complete.
Choose the section below based on your situation:
- First-time installation: If you're installing Rewind Backups on your first Shopify store.
- Additional store: If you already use Rewind and want to add another Shopify store backup to your Rewind Organization.
Steps to install Rewind Backups for the first time

Log in to your Shopify Admin
Open a new browser tab and log in to your Shopify store's admin dashboard as the store owner (or a staff member with full app-installation permissions). -
Find Rewind in the Shopify App Store
From your Shopify admin panel, click the Apps tab in the left-hand menu. In the search bar, type Rewind Backups and hit enter. Click on the official Rewind Backups listing. On the Rewind Backups app page, click the black Install button. -
Review and authorize app permissions
After clicking Install, Shopify will display a list of permissions Rewind needs to function. Review the permissions and click Install to authorize the app. -
Choose your plan
Once installed, you will be redirected to the Rewind app to select a pricing plan. Rewind's plans are tiered based on the number of orders your store processes per month. Select the plan that fits your current store volume.
Note: If your order count is inflated due to a migration, reach out to help@rewind.com, and we can assist with plan selection. -
Approve the billing charge
Approve the recurring subscription charge through Shopify's billing system.
✓ Installation is complete! Your first backup will kick off automatically.
Steps to install Rewind Backups on an additional store

Log in to the Rewind App
Log in to app.rewind.com using an account with the Organization Owner or Organization Admin role. -
Add a new integration
Click the + Add new integration button in the left-hand panel. -
Find Shopify Backups
Locate Shopify Backups on the integrations page and click Add New. -
Install Rewind Backups
A pop-up will appear — click Install Rewind Backups. You will then be redirected to the Shopify App Store. Log in to Shopify if prompted. -
Review and authorize app permissions
Shopify will display a list of permissions Rewind needs to function. Review the permissions and click Install to authorize the app.
